I read it on VANGUARD few days ago. In a remote part of the country of Malawi, there is a tradition where young girls are taken to men known as Hyenasfor for what is considered as sexual cleansing. The girls are taken there by their parents once they hit puberty. It happens after their first period, and they are made to have sex with a Hyena over a three-day period. Some of them are as young as 12, and they cannot refuse, due to fear of misfortune befalling their families. The reason for this cleansing is to teach the girls good manners, like how to please their husbands in bed.

Help! These preachers are on my case.
I have never liked public transport preachers. No hard feelings but I don’t like been disturbed but I cope because they are spreading the good news and what kind of Christian would I be anyways. The ones I’m referring to are those that get into the bus when you are travelling, preach for 20 minutes and alight somewhere after collecting offering.

How roasted corn led me to Eunice
Osayuwamen!!!!!!!! Screamed an unknown voice behind me as I stood by the roadside purchasing roasted corn. I turned and saw this stunning lady with baby bump, I couldn't make out the face immediately because of the puffines. When I did, I literally shrieked. Here was Eunice! my secondary school classmate looking so different. Pregnant and beautiful, Jealousy immediately gripped my heart. Where was the timid girl I had once known?
I will never forget a fight she had with Gloria another of our classmate.

When my body doesn't know I'm a Christian.
Doesn’t my body know that I started to follow Jesus a long time ago ? Yet, why does it constantly not follow Jesus? My mind. My heart. My body. All connected, and yet all do their own thing. Christian dating is hard. Setting physical boundaries is hard. You can only read so many devotionals, Christian blogs and Bible verses on purity before you begin to wonder, what am I doing wrong? Why is none of this controlling my body?
What do you do if you’ve set physical boundaries and you’re pursuing purity in dating, yet your body is doing its own thing?

Life Lessons from my failed Oha soup!
My precious #insmigglesvoice
Okro was my favorite soup until it started making me frequent the ladies and I had to switch to a second best option - Oha soup. But, I have never made oha soup in my life even though I once saw my friend prepare it. So I went to the market, got all the necessary stuffs and started with the preparation with the help of some you tube videos and a roommate who was reluctantly giving instructions. Well..

Sorry! Heart closed
I made up mind in first year never to have a boyfriend from my school for hilarious reasons and none of them had anything to do with my academics. Back in first year a lot of guys were coming after me and my friends but I refused to be the "new catch" I don't know if other people' felt the same way but I hardly care what people think.

Back in the days!
Sometimes, give yourself a mad treat in this country. The cliche ' these are perilious times' is now part of my vocab probably because its more biblical and less negative. I hardly talk about what's happening in the country cos I see all the complaints on my timeline and my heart is weary. I had to do a Facebook fast sometime ago because I just couldn't take it anymore.

The Encounter
Two friends,
Two lives,
Two destiny,
Different background.
Tunde, popularly called ‘PK’(preachers kid) has heard the
message of grace all his life. He knew about the love of God and his mercy and
was always telling his colleaques about it. But, his lifestyle left little to
be desired. When cautioned he will be heard saying “ where sin abound, grace
did much more abound”.
