Superbugs 1

It starts with a cold and a runny nose.
You make a decision to visit the closest pharmacy to get meds that will ease your discomfort. The pharmacist hands you pills, gives instructions, smiles and tells you to have a beautiful day.

Two days later, your health has improved but not as fast as you anticipated. There's a presentation at work, and God forbid that your village people use this catarrah to hook your destiny.  Another visit to the pharmacy, and this time you are in charge!
You want an antibiotic, a particular brand. That's what Samuel took the last time he had a cold.
The pharmacist tries to convince you that your condition is self limiting and will go away on it's own but you won't have any of it.
Bola stopped taking his drugs immediately he got better, a medication that was meant to be used for a week.
Adesuwa takes ampiclox everytime she has unprotected sex.
Osahon has a satchet of flagyl on his table.
Musa won't stop telling his colleaques how amoxil works better for Malaria than Lonart.
And that is how we create SUPERBUGS!!!
Superbugs are strains of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi that are resistant to most of the antibiotics and other medications commonly used to treat the infections they cause.
Ever wondered why a drug that usually works for you in the past doesn't work anymore ?
Abuse, Misuse, sharing antibiotics and using leftover prescriptions play a huge role .
Here's what you should do anytime you have any issues concerning drugs, CONSULT YOUR PHARMACIST! be continued
