Whatever I see or read online, I take with a pinch of salt. This is because some people have the same three point agenda as the devil: to steal, kill and destroy.

The first time I read a movie review online it was about ‘Chimamanda’s Half of a yellow sun’. I did not see that movie until a year later because of the negative reviews

The first time l got a suprise this year.

My cousin and I have always been besties. I call him my favourite  cousin. And when my mom died, he stopped been my cousin and started to be the elder brother I never had. His mom refers to my siblings and I as her kids ; his mom is my mom’s twin.  So technically, you can hear me saying we are four in the family plus Him.

When we were kids, whenever I beat up my siblings, my mom would send him to beat me up too and I in turn will chase him round the house with a stone while tears flow down my cheeks.

BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK.

As a child, you may have had the common experience of being reprimanded by an adult for the one thing that was not in place against the backdrop of everything else that was OK. For example, the one bucket that you didn’t put away, or the one unwashed plate left in the sink versus all the chores you did do. Mom comes home and without acknowledging any of your other efforts, focuses on that one thing undone. Or take for example a task or performance you did and you receive comments/feedback. If there is a comment amidst other great reviews, you would tend to get hung up on that one negative piece. You give a good presentation (for the most part) that is marred by a slip-up. When you’re done, what are you likely to fixate on - you slip-up right!

2016;The year of an Eye for an Eye

Since the beginning of this year, they've been a lot of clap back in the internet. Don jazzy and olamide launched the movement while others gladly volunteered to be part without inviting. Everybody is suddenly vexing and can't take rubbish.

The Idahosa's Journey to parenthood.

My husband, F.E.Benson Idahosa II, and I met in Benin City, Nigeria when I was 13 years old; our fathers (Benson Idahosa and Gary Whetstone) were friends.  I’ve referred to my love for Feb as “love at first sight” because very soon after we met, the sparks of love began to flicker between us.

After many years, my dream came true when I was 28 years old; Feb made me his wife! I was the happiest woman on earth and smiled ear to ear all through our courtship and wedding day. I was so excited to be his wife! The next thing I couldn’t wait for was to be the mother of his children; I wanted so badly to carry his baby. 

CAN YOU HEAR HIM?

These days, virtually everyone has a phone. You would think that with that, everyone would be accessible at any time. But that is not always the case. And even when one is accessible, effective communication is not always guaranteed. If you reflect a bit, you would probably come up with a few scenarios where in spite of being “reachable” by phone, one may not receive a message.

I will never understand boys getting attached to football. Trust me, I’ve tried but the adrenaline that goes with sitting on the couch and shouting at the Tv is way off the ceiling.

Question of life.

Every man swears they’ll pick intelligence over beauty. A man walks into a bar to find a young Oby Ezeks and an unmarried Adaeze Igwe seated separately. The later is smoking and taking selfies. The former is reading encyclopedia and drinking fanta. Which would you pick if you were a guy? Swear to God.

It is not unusual to sometimes have the ownership of an asset questioned. Sometimes it is for good reason - to determine the real owner, especially if it is something that may have been stolen. Other times, you have people take what belongs to someone else and lay claim to ownership. In the latter case, some thieves are so bold in their claim that even the rightful owner begins to have some doubt as to whether the said item was actually theirs. It gets even more complicated if the item was purchased for the owner by a third party.
